Police seeking driver who struck pedestrian this morning

The Greene County Sheriff’s Department is asking for help locating an individual who struck a pedestrian in the early morning hours Tuesday.

According to a news release from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, the vehicle vs. pedestrian accident happened on North State Road 59 near County Road 250 North -- just outside of Linton -- between 3 and 4 a.m.

“The victim was struck by a 2016 or 2017 Silver Jeep Cherokee, traveling northbound on North State Road 59 near the area of County Road 250 North. The vehicle sustained damage to the passenger side mirror,” the news release states.

“The victim sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries.”

Anyone with information should contact the Greene County Sheriff’s Department at 812-384-4411.

Investigating officers are Greene County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Davis Aerne and Det. Sgt. James O’Malley.
