LPD seeking information about weekend robbery

On Feb. 22, 2020, shortly after 10 p.m., a masked assailant entered into the Country Porch gas station, located on the west side of Linton, according to a press release from the Linton Police Department.

The perpetrator displayed a firearm and threatened the cashier, demanding that the cashier provide money from the register. The perpetrator then exited the store and fled.

The Linton Police responded and began to process and analyze the physical evidence recovered from the scene. The perpetrator is reported as being a male between 5’2” and 5’6”, stocky build, and spoke with a slight accent.

Law enforcement hopes that the build, body size and stature will help identify the perpetrator.

LPD is requesting anyone with information related to this armed robbery to contact the Linton Police Department at (812) 847-4411; or report anonymous tips to Greene County Crime Stoppers at (812) 847-5643 (812.TIP.LINE).

This investigation is still ongoing, and all subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

This is the second time in a month that a Linton convenience store. On Feb. 4, the Country Porch on the east side of Linton was robbed at gunpoint. The next day, the alleged armed robber was identified as 57-year-old Robert Dale of Hymera. He was located by police and is currently housed in the Greene County Jail.

  • Well at least the attendant wasnt humiliated like the other victim on the east side was!!! Question, What kind of accent??? Indian??? Aussie??? Hispanic??? Southern??? Northern??? British??? French??? An accent doesn't quite tell the public much now does it?
