FREE ACCESS: BSD announces plan for student meals during closure

Bloomfield School District Superintendent Jeff Gibboney issued the following statement regarding a meals for students while the school is closed:

"We wish to offer a meal service program to families in need of assistance during our extended school closure. We have organized a program utilizing school staff and volunteers from the Bloomfield community. The program will operate the week of March 16th - 20th and March 30th - April 3rd. Each food package will contain one breakfast and one lunch item per student. All food items will be labeled with the product name and allergens. Families wishing to participate will need to call the cafeteria at (812) 384-9520 on Monday, March 13th and/or March 30th between 7 AM - 9 AM to receive food packages for that week.

Food packages will be available for pick-up at the following locations between the hours of 11 AM -12 PM Monday - Friday:

● Tulip Church of God

● Bloomfield United Methodist Church

● Word of Life Fellowship Church

● Mineral United Methodist Church

● Scotland United Methodist Church

*We recognize it might not be possible for all families to make it to one of the designated food package pick-up locations. Families unable to travel to a pick-up location have the opportunity for their meals to be delivered (limited basis). "
