Still accepting Bright Future nominations

Wednesday, March 25, 2020

With Indiana locked down and local officials taking steps to “flatten the curve” of COVID-19, we have had to make the decision to push back our Bright Future banquet.

In order to accommodate our readers and ensure local youth who deserve the spotlight are recognized, you can now nominate your Bright Future candidates until May 8.

The tentative date for our banquet, where we will recognize 10 local you and name the 2020 Shining Star, is set for May 28 at the Roy Clark Building in Linton.

We have already received several incredible nominations, and we are excited to see the additional nominations that will be coming our way in the next few weeks.

Our local youth have shown their resiliency as we face such a difficult time. Students are learning time management and dedication to their education as they work from home with eLearning assignments. Our students continue to think of others in this time of uncertainty, and it’s up to us to let them know their hard work and dedication are appreciated.

If you know a Greene County student who regularly gives back to his or her community, quietly does for others without recognition, steps to the plate when others step away, stands up to lead others or shows other examples of being a Shining Star, then nominate that student at www.gcdailyworld.com. There is an easy-to-access button to find the form.

Share as much information as possible about why you believe your student is helping build a Bright Future.
