FREE ACCESS: Glenburn Home confirms 41 COVID-19 cases
According to a press release from Glenburn Home, the nursing home has confirmed 41 cases of COVID-19 among its residents. Of the cases, 40 of the residents are being cared for within the facility, while one of the residents has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The press release comes as Glenburn Home strives to promote transparency within its operations and keep the public informed of any potential safety concerns that may arise due to the novel coronavirus outbreak.
According to the press release, a “strike team” from the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) will be testing the residents and the senior care facility will continue to request testing based upon the guidelines set forth by ISDH.
Glenburn Home has also requested additional testing of the residents by the ISDH strike team and will release the results of the tests after they become available. They also noted that these residents are being treated with the same level of care as the residents that have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
According to Glenburn Home, there have been six confirmed COVID-19 related deaths in the facility. There is also one COVID-19 suspected death as well. This means that the individual died before being tested but exhibited two or more symptoms of the illness before passing.
The press release also stated that there had been seven positive cases among the staff. The seven that have tested positive for the novel coronavirus have been quarantined. Aside from the seven positive cases, two others are awaiting testing results. They are in quarantine as well.
