Sims crowned as 2021 Miss Indiana State Pure International

Claire Sims of Bloomfield was crowned as the 2021 Miss Indiana State Pure International on Saturday, March 20 at the Monroe County Convention Center in Bloomington. Sims competed in personal interview, fun fashion and evening gown categories. Her impact statement is 'Be/You/Tiful building confidence through pageantry.'

Sims is 21 years old and is the daughter of Tony Sims. a 2019 graduate of Bloomfield High School attending college at Ivy Tech Community College in Bloomington, Sims is majoring in Healthcare with four certifications; phlebotomy, CNA, pre-nursing and general studies. She will graduate in the fall of 2022.

Sims chose her impact statement Be/You/Tiful building confidence through pageantry because she wants other girls to build self-esteem and self-confidence by competing in pageants. In the future, she wants to collect prom dresses for girls in group homes so that they can go to prom in style and hopes to compete in more pageants in the future while being a role model, leader and inspiration for younger girls to look up to.

Pure International Pageants started as a United States-based organization and was held as U.S National Pageants since 2011. The organization emphasizes good public speaking and interview skills while helping contestants discover their goals and dreams and making memories that will last a lifetime. Pure International offers state and international pageants with representation from 37 states and 18 countries. Pure International Pageants are "a faith-inspired family-focused and community service-driven organization" with the belief that "anyone can make an impact on the world around them."
