A Linton woman faces three charges of animal neglect. According to a probable cause document filed in Greene Superior Court, Officer Orry Phipps of the Linton Police Department was dispatched to a residence at 1040 E Roosevelt St. in response to an animal complaint. At the scene, Phipps was advised of three abandoned dogs that were discovered inside the residence. An individual who filed the complaint reported that Heather Grogg, 37, of Linton, had lived at the location last year. The individual reported that they had been attempting to contact Grogg since last October, to no avail. According to the affidavit, Grogg arrived at the residence and told Phipps that she had not lived at the home since October but stated that she “did stop and feed them at times.” Grogg stated that she was living with a boyfriend who wouldn’t allow her to have the dogs at his residence. Phipps noted, “Grogg advised she was going through a hard time and could not feed the animals properly. I asked Grogg why she did not seek help for the animals and she advised she did not know where to go for assistance or what to do with the animals.”
