Greene County Health Department plans mass vaccination clinic

As the state of Indiana has opened vaccine eligibility to all Hoosiers 16 and older, the Greene County Health Department wants to ensure residents have access to vaccines. On Monday, the health department received 1500 additional doses of Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine and will host a pop-up clinic this weekend.

Appointments are now open for the mass vaccination clinic being held on Friday, April 9 and Saturday, April 10 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The clinic will be located at the Greene County Events Center, 4503 W. SR 54 in Bloomfield.

Registration is required. To schedule, go to ourshot.in.gov or call 211. Greene County residents can also go to https://vaccine.coronavirus.in.gov/, select eligibility status, enter zip code of residence and select “Greene County HD Mass MVAX” as the location.

Individuals who currently have a scheduled appointment will need to cancel the appointment in order to schedule vaccination at the pop-up clinic.

The clinic will be returning to the fairgrounds on May 14 and 15 to complete the second dose. Moderna is only approved by the FDA for age 18 and older.
