William "Bill" A. Moss

William "Bill" A. Moss, age 78, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 7:45 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Linton on December 27, 1944, the son of Elmer and Mildred (Arnold) Moss.

He was a 1963 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School. He worked as a coal miner at Peabody Coal for 29 1/2 years and retired from Hawthorne in 1999. He enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling to Florida. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Linton and the United Mine Workers Association. After his mother passed away two days after giving birth to Bill, he was raised by his grandmother, Margaret Moss, and his aunt Oletha Moss.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Nancy Kaye (Yoder) Moss of Linton; children, Brad "Buddha" (Gina) Moss and Lisa (David Leis) Yuodzukinas; grandchildren, Levi Moss and Chelsi Yuodzukinas; great-grandson, Maverick Ray Moss and an uncle who was like a brother, Bud Moss.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother and aunt.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, with Jeff Fulk officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Greene County Shrine Club through the funeral home.
