Warren Dale Picou (known affectionately as Pap), age 70, of Bloomfield, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Dale was born on February 21, 1954 in Paoli, to John and Verneda Picou. After attending Eastern High School, he worked at Lure Craft Industries and Bloomfield Furniture before dedicating over 20 years of his career to Circle Prosco in Bloomington, retiring in 2019.

Pap was renowned for his versatility and skills as “Mr. Fix It.” He pursued numerous hobbies including clockmaking, quilting, winemaking, photography, digital media and woodworking among others. He found delight in playful banter and was known for his knack for teasing others.

Dale is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Janice Picou, and their children, Marla Eschbacher (Paul), Barbara Hays (Quent), Lorie Helms, Mike Helms (Larynda) and Aaron Hamm. He is also survived by three brothers, Ralph Picou, Lee Picou, Larry (Opy) Picou; one sister, Cathy Johnson. Pap leaves behind nine grandchildren whom he loved to tease, Angie England, Krystal Wright, Christian Hays, Betty Speer, Jason Hays, Jeremy Helms, Rebecca Stuffle, Whitney Russell and Logan Richardson. Fifteen great-grandchildren, Hayley England, Dalton England, Allister Hays, Devon Hays, Katelyn Hays, Savanna Hays, Sophie Jackson, Morgan Campbell, Mya Coleman, Ellie Campbell, Damian Finley, Fletcher Stuffle, Remi Russell, Cooper Stuffle and Rayce Russell.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, John and Verneda Picou; his brothers, James (Richard) Picou and Donald Ray Picou; a granddaughter, Katrina Rene McDonald and a nephew, Christopher Picou.

Visitation for Dale was held privately. Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
