Parenthood has changed how we plan outings
Can we take a moment to recognize the lack of diaper changing stations in men’s restrooms?
Because this has become a real problem for my family in recent months. Who knew that becoming parents also meant we would be planning outings based on diaper changing stations?
During the week, my husband works long hours while we are sleeping. Which means his bonding time with our four-month-old is confined to him getting her dressed and out the door to daycare of a morning while I’m getting ready for work. In his eyes, that’s not even close to enough time, so the weekends include the two of them being attached at the hip.
(Which also means a long shower, cleaning time and a couple episodes of my latest binge on Hulu for mommy.)
Logan is the absolute best father and husband, though I may be a little biased, so after a week of me cleaning up dirty diapers, he’s more than happy to grab her up when her butt gets stinky.
With her being so young and still being in the throes of flu season, we don’t get out much. But, when we do, we consistently run into the same problem. When Logan offers to take over diaper changing, which I never refuse, he’s often left with having to decide to either change her right there on the table or handing her over to me.
Parents, you know as well as I do that babies make a mess at the most inconvenient moments -- like the moment the server brings out my dinner -- and little Miss Diva can’t wait a second once her diaper is dirty.
And, by golly, sometimes I like to eat my meal while it’s still hot.
Where are some of your favorite places to shop and eat which have added a changing station in the men’s room?
