Spring Cleaning
With spring here, it is time to submit ourselves to the timehonored tradition of spring cleaning. A small part of me is not looking forward to it and I know my husband cringes at the thought. It will take us the better part of one full week.
Spring cleaning? When we could be out on bicycle rides through the park or enjoying an afternoon nap.
I work on one room at a time. This clutter wasn’t created in a day so it more than likely will take longer than that to clean it.
My husband does the outside.
I set aside one afternoon to tackle the hall closet. If I haven’t used it in the last year it will be put in the garage sale.
Items like my wedding dress or high school jacket are kept. They have sentimental value but never worn.
My sister finds our spring cleaning rather irritating. I think she is jealous. We will be able to actually find things in the cabinets. Her cabinets are a hodgepodge from early 2019.
When the week comes to the end, we will be exhausted but proud of the job completed. For the next year everything will be in its place. At least for the next few months anyway.
Before we know it, spring will be here again and we can attack the mounds of clutter which have accumulated over the winter once again. But for now, we are gearing up to have a garage sale to get rid of the unwanted items, so we can go out and buy more useless items.
