Duct tape to the rescue
Moving to Linton, it has become apparent that if something breaks down in Greene County, the odds of getting a contractor out here is not great.
Which is why Saturday night I took matters into my own hands. Using, my friend, duct tape.
I have come to understand that when a dishwasher begins to eject water onto your kitchen floor it gives me an ulcer. That has occurred multiple times since moving into our new home and last week’s saga forced me to make a decision.
Do I replace the dishwasher or try to fix it? Do I even know what the problem is? Am I just going to make it worse?
In Linton, you have to ask yourself “Who will deliver out here and install a new dishwasher without breaking the bank?”
Friday and Saturday night (fun weekend) were spent analyzing what was wrong with the contraption. I knew the bottom spinner of the dishwasher had a hole in it. The plastic had melted from the plate warmer.
With a crazy thought, I wrapped duct tape around the hole three times and gave it a shot.
It worked. No more leaks.
I called my parents to brag about how I fixed the dishwasher from at least 2004 with duct tape. Instead of celebrating with me they just thought I was insane.
Who cares? After three successful loads, the dishwasher has gone from hospice to a monthly physical therapy session.
All because of duct tape.
