Stuck between a door and a dusty room
Who wants to hear about the time I got stuck in a barn?
Whoa, whoa, contain the enthusiasm. I’ll tell you.
OK, so I was out antiquing. A really smart thing for someone who’s very allergic to dust to do, right?
There I was, among all these unique pieces, perusing for my next find because I have a knack for always being able to find something special. It’s a blessing and curse, really.
I did end up finding a few things, and I was lugging them around when I ended up in this barn with more goodies inside. I meandered to the back and had to use my phone as a flashlight to really see what was around me.
I think most anyone who likes to check out antiques knows the best stuff can usually be found hidden in the back behind everything else, so of course I had to see what I could find.
I thought I saw a light go off somewhere, but didn’t think much of it. Until the second light went off. And then the door closed.
Insert horror movie sounds here.
Did I instantly think I was transported to some ghost hunting show? Yes. Did I think I was being punked? Also yes.
Turns out the place had closed and I hadn’t paid attention to their hours. Definitely on me, but I was able to leave the barn and pay for what I found.
If there was one thing I learned from this whole adventure, it’s this:
Take a Benadryl next time.
And check the business hours, of course.
