Glow
I know I’ve talked about my love for Christmas and decorating before, but I love it so much, here’s another column about it.
(And if you’re new here, hi. I’m Madison, and I love Christmas and decorating for the holidays. There. You’re just about caught up, sans a few things here and there.)
Like most kids are, I was always a fan of Christmas because I was so excited to see what I got. Like, up at 3 a.m. and dragging-my-Grandma who-was-visiting-out-of-bed-to-see-what-Santa-left-in-my-stocking excited.
Nowadays, I love trying to find special gifts for people, unique stuff that they may not know they needed or wanted but end up loving. I got some doozies for this year, but you best bet I’m not giving away any surprises here.
Another thing I can’t get enough of is looking at Christmas lights. It just brings a smile to my face every time I see places decorated and lit up at night.
There’s a warmth and feeling of comfort there, and it can honestly brighten any mood I’m in (pun somewhat intended there).
Not to mention, it makes a drive home in the dark much more enjoyable. Driving in the cold, dark night thinking its about midnight or so but it’s really just 6 p.m.? Awful. Really just puts a damper on the whole day.
But driving past all the houses and parks glowing with warmth and cheer? Sign me up. Just remember to bring the hot chocolate if you decide to follow suit.
