Easter for the adult kids
As a kid, Easter was full of fun, right? Hunting for prize-filled eggs, maybe even dieing some, coming out to see what you got in your Easter basket.
But as we get older, those fun traditions fade away. No more baskets of goodies for the older kids.
This got me thinking, what even would Easter eggs and baskets be filled with for college kids and young adults? So here it is, the Madison’s Musings Official Easter Basket/Egg Idea List for the Adult Kids in the Family That Definitely Does Not Come from Personal Experience:
• Tums and Tylenol, because we all seem to have achy joints and bad guts.
• Gas cards or restaurant cards because we’re poor and/or cheap.
• Batteries. Never know when you’ll need more and they always seem to run out when you need them most.
• Snacks and caffeine. Half of us are running on spite and fumes, or maybe hope and a Starbucks Double Shot or Dr. Pepper.
• A streaming service gift card. Most everyone has at least one nowadays, and it’s nice to not have to pay all the time.
• Fluffy, cozy blankets. Yes, you can have too many, but that doesn’t mean we ever stop wanting more.
• Random little knick knacks, buyer’s choice. Things that you might not think of but might bring the adult kid way too much joy.
I should note I am not writing this as a nudge to my own family, though it would be quite funny if it worked. I know they’re going to think it’s directed at them, and it isn’t (I swear. Don’t look at me in that tone. I’m serious, just making content here.)
And now that we’re on the subject, don’t just limit it to the actual and adult kids. Everyone deserves something. Even if it’s just a bag of jelly beans, Reese’s Eggs or Peeps, if that’s your style. Or, go wild and get that chocolate bunny. The solid, not the hollow one. You deserve it.
Happy Easter, everyone.
