Until it’s not
That’s the thing, isn’t it? Something is until it’s not. That one song, for example, is your jam, until you play it so much that you get sick of hearing it.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. Something is fine, until it suddenly isn’t. Something in your body, something in your mind, something in your life. Things are hunky dory until that pesky depression, anxiety, migraine, etc. take over. It’s all fine and dandy until... it isn’t.
And once it crosses that threshold, it’s over. Sometimes there’s just no going back to how it was, and sometimes that can really, really suck.
But at the same time, it can be for the better. Fruit isn’t ripe until it is, you don’t have enough money until you do, you’re not where you want to be until you are.
Our lives are a series of changes and shifts, one after the other. Thinks are until they are, they aren’t until they are. We are until we’re not.
The kicker with this? We don’t always know when the shift will be. Some we can see progress gradually, clouds rolling in and turning a sunny day to a stormy one.
Or, we’re here one minute and fine until one appointment, one symptom, one test. You just never know.
In the meantime, we do what we do. We live, we work, we spend, we save, we laugh, we love. What else can we do?
