Easily spooked
I’ve always been one that’s more easily scared than not. Seriously, just someone innocently coming up behind me and tapping my shoulder can make me jump. Doesn’t take much at all.
I think the men in my family took advantage of this, that or they just think they’re funny. (And as someone who rivals in the comedic category, no way am I giving them the satisfaction of saying they’re the funny ones, especially in a paper.)
One of my favorite shows to watch after school was “Ghost Whisperer” on Ion. I sat my butt down in the extra bedroom, dubbed “TV room”, and watched as much as my parents would allow. Surprisingly, this didn’t spook me too much. Except for the episodes with the character with their eyes and mouth sewn shut.
I shivered just writing and thinking about it. Not a fan.
But when it came to shows like “Ghost Adventures” or the odd “Goosebumps” I’d watch, I had to have the lights on. Even when I got older and even now, no way was I watching that stuff in the dark.
I enjoy watching those shows where people investigate locations, trying to gain evidence of the supernatural. I even am an avid “Supernatural” viewer, but that’s fiction. Not to say that the others are 100% true because how do we know for sure it’s not fabricated?
It’s still fun to watch, though.
My high school had a ghost investigation conducted on its auditorium, and managed to capture several audio recordings that gave me goosebumps when I listened. With the Shawnee lock-in taking place Saturday night, I can say that I hope something is captured, whether it be audibly, photographed or otherwise. I can also say with absolute certainty that if something taps me that’s not there, I’m gonna be jumping.
Bring on the lock-in.
