Working toward fall tax collection
I hope this correspondence finds everyone enjoying the beautiful days we have had in Greene County. Southern Indiana is such a beautiful place to be in the fall.
The office held their first tax sale on Friday, Sept. 15, 2017 in the Commissioners Room. There really is so much work that goes in to these sales. We worked diligently to keep people in their homes, stay within the guidelines and serve the county. If your property was indeed sold at the tax sale, you will have a year to redeem it. Please contact the Auditor for the redemption total and how long that total stands as interest changes.
We will now be working toward fall tax collection. Please take note that our office is closed on Nov. 10, 2017 in observance of Veterans Day. Due to the holiday, the fall tax installment isn’t due until Nov. 13, 2017 which falls on a Monday. In order to pay your taxes in the office outside of the due date, you will need to be in the office by Nov. 9, 2017.
As a reminder, we offer pay by phone at 1-877-690-3729 with Jcode 2443 and we offer online payments at co.greene.in.us.
As always, if you need any assistance please call the office at 812-384-4378. Partial payments over the next three months totaling the amount due is always accepted. It is often easier to make three smaller payments than it is to make one large on.
Enjoy the days ahead and know we are here serving you, the great taxpayers of Greene County.
Nicole Stahl is the Greene County Treasurer. She can be contacted at Nicole.Cox@co.greene.in.us.
