Linton-Stockton Elementary School (LSES) fourth-grader Shaelin McQuillen broke the two-year winning streak of former champ Julie Chen Wednesday evening at LSES, lasting a full 11 rounds and winning by correctly spelling ”assembly” when her opponent stumbled on the world “differed”.
The event started with 28 students, all top spellers in their respective classrooms.
