Held at Humphreys Park in Linton since 2010, National Night Out (NNO) has grown into one of the most popular events of the year, as evidenced by the large crowd gathered Tuesday at Linton’s Humphreys Park.
Brought to Linton by former Chief of Police Troy Jerrell, who presided over the event for close to 10 years, NNO draws hundreds of officers from police departments in Linton, Jasonville, Worthington, Lyons, Bloomfield and other area agencies as well as the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, the Indiana State Police, NJROTC cadets, Greene County fire departments, EMTs, the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office, military personnel and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, among others.
Established in 1984, NNO is an event created to emphasize partnerships between local law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve.
