Born July 29, 1920 in Windfall, Ind., he was the son of John Henry and Grace (Morton) Brackemyre. He graduated from Thorntown High School in 1937 and from Ball State in 1941 with a bachelor of science degree in education and he graduated from Indiana University in 1951 with a master's degree in education. ...
