Linton draws Eastern in football sectional

Linton introduced Eastern to varsity football seven weeks ago when the third-ranked and unbeaten Miners (7-0) drubbed the Thunderbirds (0-7) by a 61-13 count. The Miners will introduce the T-Birds to sectional play on October 24 in Class A's Sectional 40 after the teams were paired last night by the Indiana High School Athletic Association. Eastern collected its first SWIAC volleyball victory of the season on Tuesday by routing Clay City 21-7, 21-12, 21-14. The Lady T-Birds (7-17, 1-5) have won three in a row after snapping an 11-match losing streak last Saturday. Eastern did much of its damage to the Eels from behind the serving line where they accumulated 22 aces.
