Some county roads to get a facelift

New Wheel Tax revenues are going to be spent to blacktop Greene County roads ---- as promised. The Greene County Council on Monday afternoon approved a $220,000 appropriation from the new Wheel Tax Fund to be spent for paving county roads. County Highway Department supervisor Mike Hennette had hoped to get an OK to spend $587,379 on nine separate blacktopping projects, but he was informed by county auditor Dave Bailey that the council could only approve the amount of money already collected and distributed to the county from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles.. ...
