It really came down to leaving the program in better shape than it was when she took over. Robin M. White, 49, of Bloomington, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006 at her residence. Born Nov. 21, 1956, in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Donald R. and Mabel (Hamlin) Weaver. She worked for Boston Scientific. Survivors include one son and his wife, Joe and Alison White of Terre Haute; two daughters, Jennifer Bough and her husband, Travis, of Worthington, and Jessica White of Bloomington; two grandchildren, Megan Bough and Jordan Bough of Worthington; her parents, of Bloomington; one sister, Kim Weaver of Bloomington; one brother and his wife, David and Mary Lou Gallagher of Owensburg.. ...

Thomas P. McCammon, 81, of Linton passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2006 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Born June 6, 1925, he was the son John Thomas and Ethel Jane McCammon. On June 15, 1946 he married Macel K. Foster. He worked as a paint inspector at the Ford Motor Company in Chicago, Ill. for 31 years before retiring in 1977. He was a member of the Sullivan Congregation of Jehovah's Witness...

Georgia J. Bowersock, 59 of Worthington, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. Born in Linton on Oct. 5, 1947, she was the daughter of Clay F. and Emma V. (Criss) Denny. She was formerly employed as a CNA and QMA at the Lyons Nursing Home, and as a CNA at the Glenburn Home. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxilary & VFW Ladies Auxilary, both of Worthington, and the Linton Ladies Moose Lodge...

After five years as president of the Bloomfield Apple Festival Committee, Leroy Barnhill, informed the committee during Wednesday's meeting that he has decided to step down. Republican Terry Pierce and Democrat Dured Townsend agree providing the proper level of staffing for road patrols for the Greene County Sheriff's Department, in the jail and the dispatch center, is a challenge. Both agree that past state jail inspections have shown that staffing in the jail facility has consistently fallen below the expectations of the inspectors...

The unemployment rate in Greene County improved in September by nearly a full percentage point, according to figures released by the Indiana Workforce Development. Greene County's jobless rate was reported at 4.9 percent -- down from 5.7 percent in August. That ranks 38th among the state's 92 counties, but it's above the state's 4.7 percent jobless rate...
