The Greene County Commissioners voted Tuesday morning to request that the Greene County Council consider approving an additional $4 million in bond anticipation notes in order to provide funds to complete the courthouse renovation project. The county council -- which met in a closed door executive session with the county's litigation team from Indianapolis on Monday -- is expected to act on the commissioner's request at its next meeting slated for 4 p.m. on Dec. 18...

Brown County outscored Eastern Greene 33-21 in the final 16 minutes as the host Lady Eagles came away with 57-54 victory in a high school girls basketball game Tuesday night. Gladys I. Daniels, 79, of Dugger, passed away at 4:22 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 4, 2006 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. Born June 18, 1927 in Sullivan County, she was the daughter of Hosea Boone and Pearl Pansy Leckie Boone. She was as member of the First Christian Church of Dugger and attended the Dugger Senior Citizens Center, and retired as a cook and janitor at Dugger Elementary School after 25 years...
