David and Mary Garwood celebrated their 50th anniversary with a renewal of their vows at the Olive Branch Baptist Church. There was a reception following with a lunch buffet, including cake and punch. Family and friends enjoyed the fellowship. The Garwoods were married Sept. 22, 1957. The Linton Miners went 1-1 at Saturday's Linton Invitational, defeating Vincennes Rivet, 25-11, 14-25, 15-13, but dropping a 29-27, 25-18 match to Vincennes Lincoln, as the Lady Alice's went on to win the tournament. In their win over Rivet, Ashlea Beard had four kills, two blocks and 12 digs. Megan Barnes had 13 kills, one block and five digs. Jesse Bohnert had one ace, four kills, three blocks and 13 digs. The Indiana High School Athletic Association released its pairings for the 2007 volleyball tournament on Monday. After some changes to the alignment made during the spring, both area sectionals will feature a five team field.
