Born Jan. 9, 1946 in Linton she was the daughter of Jack Mathena & Evelyn (Fulk) Barrett. Chester R. (Shorty) Graves Sr., of Dugger, passed away at 6:55 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2008 at his residence. He was born in Linton on March 3, 1934 to Ray Graves and Gertrude Dover Graves. He was a retired iron worker from Local #379 in Lafayette. Survivors include his wife Deena Jenkinson Graves of Lafayette; five sons; Chester Graves Jr., of Indianapolis, Douglas Graves of Evansville, Lee Graves of Dugger, Edward Graves, and Jefferson Graves, both of Lafayette; two daughters; Amber Graves and DaNina Graves, both of Lafayette; one step-daughter; Patricia Hartley of Evansville; seven sisters, Deloris Hook of New Mexico, Bertha French of Linton, Sharon Conn of North Carolina, Nancy Parker of Jasonville, Louetta Brewskie of Illinois, Brenda Jerrel of Linton, and Wilma Weathers of Linton; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.. ...
