Switz City to get electronic water meters

The Switz City Town Council voted unanimously Monday evening to order new electronic water meters. The money used for the meters is excess funds from the water improvement project and was approved and recommended by Rural Development. The Linton Police Department hopes some cooperation from the public will help solve a recent rash of power tool thefts. According to LPD Sgt. Det. Keith McDonald, there have been several thefts of power tools in and around Linton the past 30 days. The Eastern-Greene School Board unanimously approved a three-year contract for a new superintendent at a special meeting Monday night at the new high school. Ty Mungle, a resident of Harrodsburg, will begin his duties on July 15. The board began their search for a new superintendent in March after current Superintendent Randy Barrett announced his intention to retire.
