Bloomfield School Board will not make principal hire Thursday

There's been a change in the hiring of a new principal at Bloomfield Jr./Sr. High School. The Bloomfield School Board was set to hire a new principal during a special session set for 8 p.m. today (Thursday.) But, that has changed. In a brief phone interview, Superintendent Dan Sichting explained, "The job was offered to a candidate and the candidate accepted the position and then reconsidered this morning."...

River search turns up no sign of missing woman

Indiana Conservation officers were back on the West Fork of the White River on Wednesday with sonar equipment looking for signs of a missing Bloomfield woman. The approximate two-hour search of the river area near the Veteran's Memorial Bridge, just west of Bloomfield, turned up no signs of 46-year-old Betty J. Carlton, who has not been seen since July 12, according to Conservation Officer Gregg Swanson...

Butt wanted for theft of four-wheelers in Linton area

A warrant for the arrest of Levi Butt was issued this week after two preliminary class D felony counts of auto theft were filed against him in Greene Circuit Court.
