It's persimmon picking time in Greene County and for people who don't want to pick their own, persimmon pulp is once again available for sale at the Worthington Senior Citizens Center. They charge $4 for two cups of pulp. Besides not having to go on the hunt, buying their pulp means you don't have to peel the persimmons yourself or remove the seeds or smash them up before you make the pudding - it's ready to use...

I just received a letter from a local lady who has decided to give up on Halloween. And not because she doesn't like the ghouls, ghosts and witches that haunt the streets on Halloween night. It's because she wants to give Halloween back to the "little ones"...

Pop tabs a hot commodity for L-S students

Pop tabs are once again a hot commodity for students at Linton-Stockton Elementary School. This is the third year that students are collecting pop tabs to benefit the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) of Indianapolis. Shaney Dale, an ambassador for the RMH explained, "The kids are collecting tabs through the month of October. They have raised over 700,000 tabs in the past two years. If they collect 250,000 this time around they will be a part of the Ronald McDonald House million tab club."...
