Attempted break-in at Linton church reported

The First Baptist Church of Linton reported an attempted break-in to the Linton Police Department on Wednesday. The church is located on the east side at 1950 State Road 54. According to a police report, the attempt was discovered when someone arrived at the church around 5 a.m. on Wednesday. UPDATED: Rural Bloomfield woman among suspects arrested in Clay County home invasion case

The pieces of evidence collected by officials during an extensive 35-hour investigation into a rural Clay County home invasion early Wednesday morning fell into place when the victims were able to identify one of their attackers from a photo line-up. "Using an array of photos taken from recent jail bookings at the Clay County Justice Center as a line-up, the victims were able to identify one of the suspects," Indiana State Police Public Information Officer Joseph Watts said. "Once that happened, from that point on things just fell into place. This is one of those cases where the victims had a good identification of the suspect and all the agencies were working together to solve it."
