BREAKING NEWS: Gov. Daniels announces more actions to reduce state spending

INDIANAPOLIS -- Gov. Mitch Daniels today initiated state agency spending reductions following the fourth straight month of lower than forecast state revenues for Fiscal Year 2010. For October, revenue collections were again below the May 2009 forecast. Total tax collections were $46 million below the forecast amount for the month. For the first four months of the fiscal year, general fund revenues are $309 million or 7.4 percent below forecast...

Eric Harrah receives Harvey Hannah Award from Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce

Bloomfield Manufacturing Company president and CEO Eric Harrah was honored with the prestigious Harvey Hannah Award during the Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce's annual award dinner on Thursday. Guest speaker Andy Roberts highlighted the many contributions that Harrah has made to the town of Bloomfield. "Eric served on the town board as president from 2000-2007...He was an untiring and dedicated servant," Roberts said. Going into Friday's championship game of Class A Sectional 40, the Linton-Stockton Miners felt they still had unfinished business with the North Daviess Cougars. Back on September 25 the Cougars handed the Miners a lopsided 34-6 setback that sent them into a two-week long nosedive that cost them the Southwest Seven Conference crown and forced head coach Steve Weber to reevaluate where his team was headed.
