Slover steps down after 22 years of service with Linton Utilities

Long-time manager of Linton Utilities Brent Slover has handed in his resignation -- with his last day of employment being Nov. 26. Slover, who has served in the position for 22 years, recently accepted employment with Hoosier Energy in Bloomington. "I start my other duties Nov. 29," he said. "I verbally told (Linton Mayor) Tom (Jones) last week and turned in a letter of resignation yesterday (Nov. 4).".....

Sandborn Council listens to request to drill a gas well

Atlas Warren from Atlas Energy addressed the Sandborn Town Council on Tuesday evening asking permission for the company to drill a gas well on the corner of State Roads 59 and 58. He stated that it would be drilling approximately 3,000 feet deep and then horizontally for a mile north of that location ending at South Street, which would take them under the town's water well and pump house on the east side of Anderson Street (Highway 59)...
