Come on Miner fans, let's cheer! To the Editor: I just wanted to take a moment and thank some people at the football game Friday night. My husband and I go to all the home games and almost all of the away games. We sit on the 40 yard line on the second row if anyone would like to join us. I yell with the cheerleaders with their yells and some people stare at me as they go by. But I think that's OK, that is what we are supposed to be doing...

Eastern Greene High School senior JT Yoho will will continue his basketball and academic careers at Wright State University. Go to the video library to watch. Yoho, a 6-foot-6 guard, led the Thunderbirds in scoring last season at 18.3 points per game. He had a high of 36 against Bloomfield. Yoho shot 50 percent from the field for the season, including 43.3 percent from 3-point range. Earlier this summer Yoho was selected to the Junior All-Star team that played against the Indiana All-Stars.

Harlan H. Foreman Harlan H. Foreman, 68, of Bloomfield, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011 at his residence. Born Jan. 19, 1943 in Harvey, Ill., he was the son of Donald Foreman and Lavina (Van Buren) Gabbard. He worked for Container Corp. of America and was retired. He was a member of the Odon VFW and the NRA. He was a Navy veteran. Surviving relatives include his children: Shawn (Glenn) Haines of Cape Coral, Fla., Michelle (Ken) DeCosta of Boston and Robert Foreman of North Las Vegas, Nev. He has seven grandchildren -- Jessica (Malacai) Holder, Brandon Petkus, Emma and Sofia DeCosta, Briana Johnson, Angalina Foreman and Alyia Foreman; two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will have a memorial service Wednesday, Aug. 24, at the Odon VFW at 2:30 P.M. and burial of the ashes will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Scotland Cemetery.
