Vertis P. Weathers, age 84, of Linton, passed away at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Glenburn Home in Linton. He was born Aug. 26, 1927, in Daviess County, the son of Stephen & Maude (Pettit) Weathers. He retired from General Electric in Linton in 1989. At age 16, he worked in a factory in Washington to make parachutes for World War II. He was a member of the Elnora Outdoor Club and was the last one living of the founding members...
