Jeanette K. Beverstock, 74, of Linton, passed away Monday evening, July 9, 2012, at her residence in Linton. She lost her 18 month battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, but gained the eternal reward of heaven through her faith in Jesus Christ. She was born to parents George Ralph Thomas and Wilhelmina (Wakefield) Thomas on July 8, 1938 in Linton, Ind. Jeanette was a member of the Linton Church of Christ where she was baptized at age 15. She graduated from Linton-Stockton High School in 1956. She was a Rainbow Girl and a member of the Delta Theta Tau sorority. After high school she earned her RN degree from Indiana State University in 1959. She worked as a RN at Greene County General Hospital for her entire career and served as the Operating Room Supervisor for many years. She retired 9/6/2003 after 44 years of service. She served on the Linton-Stockton School Board from 1974-78. She had many hobbies, one of which was decorating her home for the holidays. She loved playing bridge and was part of several bridge clubs. Jeanette was involved with softball for over 35 years where she coached and umpired, and also served as the District Commissioner and the secretary/treasurer of the ASA Linton Girls Softball League. She loved bowling, watching all sports, and was an avid IU basketball fan. Her greatest pride and joy was her two daughters and her two grandsons of whom she absolutely loved watching play their respective sports of soccer and football. Survivors include her two daughters: Melinda Beverstock and Michele Snider both of Brownsburg, Ind. Her two grandsons, Jonathon (Yogi) Snider and Isaac Beverstock; and one cousin, David Messmore of Virginia. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral service will be at the Linton Church of Christ (located on the corner of 4th and C. Streets NW) at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2012, with Bro. Pat Kelly and Bro. Jerry Carmichael officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 13, 2012. Visitation will resume at the Linton Church of Christ on Saturday, July 14, 2012, from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at 10 a.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel of Linton.
