Updated: Fire levels vacant house in Newberry Monday night (Local News ~ 08/21/12)
NEWBERRY ---- Four area fire departments responded to a Monday night fire in an abandoned house in Newberry. The fire at a vacant residence at Fourth and Union streets was reported at 11:04 a.m. The blaze fully engulfed the aged home before the fire units arrived. -

Commissioners to offer same holidays to county workers as the state

For the second successive year, Greene County workers will follow the same holiday schedule used by Indiana state employees. What this means is county workers will have 12 paid holidays in 2013. It also means, the county employees will not have President's Day and New Year's Eve as holidays -- two paid days which were removed from the 2012 holidays list...
