In the contested Democratic Primary race for Linton Clerk-Treasurer, challenger Jathan Wright has defeated incumbent Jack Shelton. Wright is a sitting Linton City Councilman for District 6 and this was his first bid for the position for Linton Clerk-Treasurer. Wright won 64.07 percent of the votes (758 votes) over his opponent Shelton who received 35.93 percent (425 votes). Wright won the contest over Shelton by a difference of 333 votes. Wright said he first wished to commend Shelton for running an honorable campaign.

It wasn't a good day for the incumbents in Worthington as both incumbents in the Worthington Town Board races were ousted by challengers in Tuesday's General Election. Tom Franklin, Ward 1, and Robert Van Sterling, Ward 3, were chosen to move onto November's General Election. Franklin, a Republican, captured 59.85 percent of the votes for a total of 79 votes in the Worthington Town Board Ward 1 race. His opponents, incumbent Michael McCafferty and Jason Robertson collected 28 (21.21 percent) and 25 (18.94 percent) respectively.
