Winning four straight sectional titles is not satisfying enough for the Linton-Stockton football team. The Miners caught a glimpse of what it takes to reach the elite status and play for a state championship in their season-ending loss to North Vermillion last year. The Falcons, who won the regional contest over the Miners 31-8, went on to win the Class A state title a few short weeks later.....

Veteran Linton-Stockton tennis coach Brad McKinney enters the 2015 season having to replace half of last year's lineup. At the top of the lineup the Miners lost Zack McGill who had played the past two years at No. 1 singles and lost half of the No. 1 doubles team in Alex Wilson and half of the No. 2 doubles team with Dalton Van Patten...

The Midwest Collaborative for Library Services (MCLS) have released a list of 13 libraries across the state selected to receive a scholarship from MCLA. Included on the list is the Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library. The scholarship will allow representatives from the libraries to attend the 2015 Harwood/ALA Public Innovators Lab in Detroit, Michigan from October 14-16...

The Bloomfield Chapter Order of the Eastern Star (OES) will be hosting the Bloomfield Apple Festival Little Miss, Little Mister and their Court contest again this year. Linton-Stockton coach Brian Oliver made the decision in the offseason to go with a different look this season. The third-year head coach moved players around to make for a smaller but faster offensive line. The move paid off Friday night, as the Class 1A No. 4 Miners dominated the line of scrimmage against a much bigger line and came away with a 35-19 win over Class 2A No. 19 Speedway at Roy Williams Field.

If you do something once people may call it an accident. But do it a second time and people will start to believe. The Bloomfield volleyball team has won regional championships two years in a row under the guidance of head coach Ashlea Dunkerly. The third-year coach is hoping her Lady Cardinals can repeat for a third time, but with those high expectations, comes a great deal of pressure...
