Yoho defeats Frye for Bloomfield Town Council, Ward 1 Seat

Republican Scott Yoho has defeated incumbent Doug Frye for the Precinct 1 seat on the Bloomfield Town Council. Yoho received a total of 306 votes (63.75 percent) and Frye finished with a total of 174 votes (36.25 percent). Yoho was raised in Bloomfield and is proud to still call it his home today.......

Thompson to continue role as Bloomfield Clerk-Treasurer

Republican Sondra Thompson has officially been re-elected to serve the Town of Bloomfield as Clerk Treasurer once again. Thompson beat opponent Teressa S. Smith by 221 votes. Thompson received 353 votes (72.78 percent) while Smith finished with a total of 132 votes (27.22 percent)......

Duncan wins Jasonville City Council seat

Democrat Bradley J. Duncan has defeated Republican opponent Matthew W. Hill for the at-large seat on the Jasonville City Council. Duncan finished with a total of 162 votes (66.39 percent) and Hill had a total of 82 votes (33.61 percent). Portteus wins seat on Jasonville City Council, Precinct 2

In the race for Jasonville City Council, Precinct 2, Kelly Portteus has defeated her opponent, Wilma "Jeanie" Lee. Portteus won 69 percent of the votes, with a total of 158 votes over Lee who won 31 percent of the votes, for a total of 71 votes. "I would like to thank the community for the support that they showed and for the good voter turn out," Portteus told the Greene County Daily World, "I appreciate the support that was given from the community, and of course, from my co-workers, my family and my friends. .....

It was a beautiful day in Greene County for Election Day on Tuesday. Voters had no weather-related excuse not to visit the polls to cast their ballots in contested races in Bloomfield, Jasonville and Linton. In these municipal elections, 2,231 voters cast their ballots either by machine or by absentee, out of 6,689 voters who were registered. That amounts to a 33.35 percent voter turnout.....

Bedwell, Sparks, Ellett win seats on Linton City Council

The City of Linton had three contested city council races with Linda Bedwell (District 4), Jeff Sparks (District 6) and Jerry Ellett (District 7) prevailing as winners. In District 4, Bedwell, an Independent candidate, defeated Democrat Richard "Dick" Kaiser 227 votes (71.61 percent) to 90 votes (28.39 percent).....
