Saturday, December 12 The Linton Moose Lodge serves dinner every Saturday night from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. The Lyons Senior Citizen Center will have its Monthly Breakfast from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12. Linton Elks prepare for party with member 'Elf Day'

Members of the Linton Elks spent Saturday morning putting together 30 bicycles in preparation for this week's Christmas party for Linton Head Start students. Dean Miller helped to wrap presents, utilizing the pool table for a different project than normal. The Elks will host 40 students and their parents Tuesday, with Santa, food, music and gifts. UPDATED: Lady Cards roll to win over Barr-Reeve

Playing its fifth game in a 9-day stretch, the Bloomfield girls basketball team showed early signs of tired legs on Saturday against visiting Barr-Reeve. The Class A No. 9 Lady Cards led just 10-5 after the first eight minutes of play, but a strong second quarter ignited them to a 53-26 win. The win improved the Lady Cardinals record to 9-2 on the season, while Barr-Reeve fell to 3-6.

UPDATED: Cardinals survive early flurry from Mustangs

Visiting Edgewood came out swinging as they landed punch after punch on Bloomfield, but it was the host Cardinals who delivered the knock out punch in the end. Class A No. 2 Bloomfield overcame a 15-point second quarter deficit to score a 57-47 win over the Class 3A Mustangs at Guy Glover Gym Saturday night.
