Amy L. (Lane) Stefancik, 66, of Linton, passed away May 2, 2016 at the Union Hospital in Terre Haute. Amy was born in Scottsville, Ky., on Nov. 1, 1949, to Roger D. and L. Lorene (Lane) Lane. She married the love of her life, William Francis "Frank," on April 28, 1968, in Linton. Amy graduated from the nursing program at Vincennes University in 1987 and worked as a home health care nurse in Greene and surrounding counties... -

SOLSBERRY -- A motor vehicle accident involving a single vehicle occurred about 3 p.m. Monday, sending three area residents to the hospital. Polls busy as voters cast ballots for primary election (Local News ~ 05/03/16)
Greene County residents are headed to the polls today to vote in the primary election. Two Linton locations -- the Roy Clark Building and East Shelter House at the park -- report decent voter turnout thus far. At the Shelter House, John Correll said the machines are working great and the help is fantastic. Nathan Abrams wins Republican bid for County Commissioner District 2 in primary election (Local News ~ 05/03/16)
Incumbent Nathan Abrams edged out challenger Mike Crane in the Republican Primary race for Commissioner District 2 on Tuesday. Abrams won with 3,006 votes, to Crane's 2,996. Abrams will face Democrat Mike Bond in the elections this fall. -

Home run by freshman sends Shakamak to win in 17 (High School Sports ~ 05/03/16)
Jona Lash missed a bunt sign from Shakamak head coach B.A. Shipman in the top of the seventeenth inning. But the freshman did not miss two pitches later. Lash drilled a 1-2 pitch over the fence in center for a two-run homer breaking a 1-all tie.
