Redevelopment Commission to seek reimbursement

The Greene County Redevelopment Commission will soon be coming before the Greene County Council to seek reimbursed funds spent while assisting the Battery Innovation Center (BIC). Attorney Marilyn Hartman went before the council to give them a heads up on an upcoming ordinance requesting a transfer of funds back to the Redevelopment Commission...

Interested parties can file for school board spots soon (Local News ~ 07/26/16)
School board candidates will be able to file for election over the next month. According to Voter Registration clerk Marjorie Cullison, applications can be picked up as early as July 27. "Candidates that are interested will need to obtain a petition to run," Cullison said. "They will need to have 10 registered voters sign it in the district they are running for."... -
Produce in the Park (Local News ~ 07/26/16)
Even when Linton's Humphreys Park is nearly empty, Bill Creech is set up next to the highway to sell his produce. Creech is at the park Monday through Friday, selling items like cantaloupe, watermelon, tomatoes, cucumbers and more. LSSC hopes construction will be complete by first day of school (Local News ~ 07/26/16)
Linton-Stockton School Corporation's campus has been abuzz with safety upgrades this summer, and its completion date will depend on the weather. Superintendent Nick Karazsia met with the contractors Tuesday morning, and he said they are hopeful the project will be completed before the start of school. With students' first day just two weeks away -- on Aug. 10 -- he stressed the weather is now the deciding factor. He will know more at next Tuesday's meeting with the contractors... -
