Ruth Craig, of Owensburg, went to be with her Lord on Aug. 4, 2016 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Born March 31, 1941 in Greene County, the daughter of Hubert and Bessie (Christenberry) Harper. Ruth was a nurse's aid at Garden Villa in Bloomington, she enjoyed a long career in health care and her passion for helping others. ...

Plummer Creek cost-share options discussed

The Plummer Creek Advisory Committee met Tuesday evening to discuss how to get a cost-share plan set. According to Watershed Coordinator Laura Demarest, the meeting went well. YOUTH FOOTBALL SIGNUPS The Linton-Stockton Youth Football League will have sign-ups on Saturday, August 13 from 8-11 a.m. and Wednesday, August 17 from 6-8 p.m. at the high school football field. Children in grades K-6 grades are invited to play. Children who turn eight by 1/31/2017 are also eligible to play tackle football and will be issued equipment at sign-ups. It was the only match the Lady Miners won last year, but it was something to generate some excitement for the program.
