SPENCER – When the Linton-Stockton Miners and Owen Valley Patriots squared off for the second time this season it was an entirely different ballgame from the first meeting. When the Miners and Patriots played three weeks ago in the third-place game of the Wabash Valley Classic Owen Valley blistered the nets, shooting 63 percent in the first half - including 7-of-10 from beyond the arc - and led by a point at halftime, 31-30. Linton did go on to win that game 65-54...

Ruth Laughlin, 103, formerly of Bloomfield passed away Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born July 25, 1914 in Sullivan County to Ira and Laura Propst Fiscus. She was reared in the Park community by Artie Brown Wade. Ruth married Wayne Laughlin on June 1, 1946. They had one daughter, Joyce. Ruth was a homemaker. She was a member of Furnace Christian Church and Walnut Grove Church of God...
