Center for Women’s Ministries to hold open house for new location

The Greene County Center for Women’s Ministry is fast approaching its goal of opening a new location in Linton to offer free Christ-centered counseling services for women in Greene County. Mildred Ernestine Howell, age 82, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Glenburn Home. She was born in Marco on March 11, 1936, the daughter of the late Oscar Ashcraft and Alice (Cole) Ashcraft. Lady Miners overcome slow start, bury the Hatchets (High School Sports ~ 05/02/18)
At the outset it looked as if the Washington Lady Hatchets might chop the Linton-Stockton Lady Miners into little bits. Washington jumped out to a 2-0 lead in its first turn at bat. Prosperity didn’t last for the Lady Hatchets (2-13) however. Linton-Stockton (8-7) answered with two runs in the home half to tie the score. UPDATED: Ellis Water boil order lifted

According to Andrew Shreve, Manager at Ellis Water, a precautionary boil order has been issued for customers who live between Base Road and 150 South from 1100 West to 1050 West while system repairs are underway. Shreve said customers should boil water for at least five minutes prior to using for drinking or cooking. Shreve was unable to give an exact time the order would be lifted, stating that the precautionary boil order will remain in effect until further notice...
