Seven seeking Miss Greene County title

Seven young women will be competing for the title of Miss Greene County this weekend. The Miss Greene County contest is scheduled for Sunday at the 4-H Fairgrounds at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The 2018 queen will receive a $500 scholarship. The first runner-up will receive a $250 scholarship and second runner-up receives a $100 scholarship. Event co-coordinator Stephanie Fish said participants will receive items from local businesses.

Bloomfield student Jaden Lauderdale passed away one year ago, on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis. Born Jan. 13, 2003, the infant Lauderdale came into the world with a congenital heart defect known as hyploplastic left heart, a condition which essentially means the child born with it does not have the left side of their heart. She spent her too-short life in and out of Riley Hospital, and developed a passion for helping others...
