4-H tradition pits hogs against humans

One of the most popular shows at the Greene County 4-H fair exhibits the skills of one of the supposedly smartest animals: humans. The 4-H Hog wrestling contest will be held Thursday, July 19 at 8 p.m. in the outdoor arena at the fairgrounds. Adults can buy a ticket for $7, while kids ages 7-12 can spend $5, 4-H’ers with a bracelet can get in for $4, and kids six and under, for free, can claim a bleacher seat to watch small teams enter the hog’s natural habitat--a roughly 20 feet around, two-foot deep mud pit--to see whether or not they can wrestle the pig on top of a 55-gallon drum.. ...
