DNR: Boxwood blight found in Indiana

The DNR Division of Entomology & Plant Pathology has discovered that a shipment of boxwood plants infected with boxwood blight was shipped to Indiana in May. This is important because boxwood blight (Calonectria pseudonaviculata) is a fungal disease that infests members of the popular Buxaceae family, and is often transported through the nursery trade. INDIANAPOLIS – Lilly Endowment is launching the seventh phase of its Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow initiative (GIFT VII), allocating $125 million to help Indiana community foundations strengthen the towns, cities and counties they serve. Luther Marion Welch Sr., 97 of Bloomfield, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather and friend, passed away on Oct. 15, 2018 at Greene County General Hospital. Luther was born at home in Perryvile, Ky. on Dec. 31, 1920.
